Saya baru inget, ternyata jawaban saya waktu quiz algoritma di smester 1 itu salah. Padahal sesaat sebelum saya tau ini, saya masih mengira pemahaman saya ga salah (emang gak salah juga sih, tapi kurang tepat kalo tujuannya melihat perbedaannya dari sisi algoritma).

Ternyata perbedaan perintah WHILE dan DO-WHILE adalah

• DO-WHILE: pengecekan kondisi dilakukan di akhir, setelah menjalankan blok kode program didalamnya. Jadi, minimal blok kode program didalamnya itu dijalankan 1x meskipun kondisinya selalu tidak terpenuhi.
• WHILE: pengecekan dilakukan di awal, sebelum menjalankan blok kode program didalamnya. Jadi, ya gitu deh..

Last monday, I joined a seminar about my lecturer’s researches. I joined it because he told me that some of his explanations would be useful for my study. I studied about image processing and He explained about face and smell recognition.

No way! In fact, even as 3rd year student, I still confused about advanced matrix operation that he explained briefly within his presentation. I do remember the keyword like “algebra”, “eigen space”, “fourier”, “fuzzy”, and “neural network”. But how can it works in face and smell recognition algorithm?

It’s embarrassing (but I’ll keep telling you here, so thanks to me..), my mathematic since in high school is poor. Fortunately, my friends always help me, like Ardianto who often gave me some algebra tutoring. So, basically, I don’t understand algebra problems well. I wish there was an algebra help that always available for me.

How annoying. Every time I hated math, they came to me. It almost made me crazy with its word, it’s so hard to reveal it’s true aim. How should I answer it?

Mathematics rules the world! I think I agree that. Even in my major (Computer Engineering), computer is just a tool that simplify our task. Almost all program in computer works with algebric algorithm. Those face recognition system compute image input, break the image as a matrix, doing some enhancement, implementing neural network, and giving the output. It all implement mathematic rules.

Before creating a system like that, of course I need more study and algebra help. I may also try to unsharp my mind in solving standard math problems, before physics, statistic, or even chemistry problems. And an online algrbra tutor? As long as it will help me, why not?

Well.., if all computer engineer in the world should master this part of mathematics called algebra, I can’t imagine when I’ll be able to enjoy my time, my youth time, my precious time!
